Bunny Easter

I wrote and illustrated this children's book for an Adobe class, meaning the illustrations were done primarily in Illustrator and the text and formatting was done entirely in InDesign!!

In a snug little burrow lay Baby Bunny, fast asleep in his matchbox bed. It is time to wake up, said Mama Bunny, for today is a special day.

Baby Bunny hopped to the door, and oh, what a site he saw! Colorful eggs scattered across the meadow, decorating the day!

Mama, why are there eggs in the meadow? Asked Baby Bunny, ever so curiously. The Easter Bunny has been here, she replied, placing a kiss on the top of his head. Each egg holds a sweet surprise. So off hopped Baby Bunny, smile wide on his face.

The very first egg he spied was as red as a rose. He opened it with care, and inside was a plump red strawberry, as sweet as could be.

Not long after was an orange egg, as vibrant as the setting sun. Inside was a tiny orange carrot with a wonderful crunch.

Next, beneath the shade of a daisy, Baby Bunny found a yellow egg, filled with small, yellow berries. I'm not sure what these are, thought Baby Bunny, so I will ask Mama Bunny when I get home!

Soon after, nestled near a clover patch, was a grass green egg. Inside lay a fresh green pea pod with such a wonderful snap!

On he hopped until he came across a sky blue egg by a babbling brook. Within it were juicy blueberries, bursting with flavor.

At last, when his basket was nearly full and his paws a tiny bit tired, Baby Bunny spotted one final egg, purple like a flower violet. Inside was a sugared plum, rich and delicious.

Baby Bunny gathered his basket and hopped back home, where Mama Bunny waited with a warm smile. Oh, mama, he said, I have found a whole rainbow of eggs! What a wonderful job you have done, smiled Mama Bunny, and what a wonderful day it will be!
